Originally from Honolulu, Hawai’i, Robert's passion for visual media started in graphic design and evolved into a passion for visual storytelling through cinematography. He earned his MFA in Cinematography at Chapman University in 2018. Robert’s goal is to tell great visual stories, make meaningful connections through filmmaking that broaden his world view, while also exploring his own roots as a second generation Chinese-Filipino American.  His work has been previously featured at Slamdance, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and is a 2025 Film Independent Project Involve fellow. 

In his spare time Robert enjoys comics, surfing, martial arts, and traveling.
